VMY Logo Cameroon

The origins of the logo of the Vincentian Marian Youth in Cameroon is rooted not only in the map of our country but also in the official colors of the national flag: green, red, and yellow.
Green represents the forests of Cameroon and also the hope of young men and women, the future of the nation.
Red reminds us of the blood that was shed during the war of decolonization or the war in the mountains. It also reminds us of the suffering that the Virgin Mary endured because of her Son.
Yellow symbolizes the sun and also the savannah areas in the northern part of our country. Yellow is also the symbol of faith, the burning faith of Saint Vincent de Paul.
We can break down the logo in the following way: “V” is yellow, “M” is red and “Y” is green.
In the center of the logo we see the Miraculous Medal which symbolizes the Virgin Mary, our Mother, our model, our protector, our inspiration, and above all, the Founder of our beloved Association.
Cameroon is surrounded by 12 blue stars (Mary’s color) and these symbolize the 12 Apostles and the 12 tribes of Israel. On the top of the logo are the words: Vincentian Marian Youth, and underneath the logo is the word, Cameroon.
We want to state here that the drawing of this logo was done by Pascal Peg (the first national president) and was presented and approved on the occasion of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the VMY in Cameroon which took place in 2005 in Douala.
