“INTERNET AND THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOSPEL”
Hi everybody!
Today we want to reflect on Internet and proclaiming of the Gospel.
The Internet and mass media have an influence on lives of their users.
What does the Church say about using the Internet for evangelization?
“We should see the Internet as a ‘gift of God’” – Church
“Evolution is compatible with Christian faith” – Blessed JP II
Benedict XVI points the use of Internet for dissemination of the Word of God.
Fr. Gregory Gay, CM encourages using of the Internet for the performance of the mission.
We, the generations X, Y or Z, let’s use post modernity to evangelize, but without losing the depth of the Message.
The world is thirsty, and this thirst can only be satisfied with Christ, but many do not invoke Him…
How can they invoke Him if they do not know Him? How can they know Him if nobody proclaims Him?… (Rom. 10, 14)… and I continue: Who will proclaim Him but we, the youth, who are more involved with the new technologies?
The mission of evangelization belongs to everyone and that announcement must have a bonus, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God. (EN 22).
Let’s give a reason for the Christian faith, on the Internet today, as Jesus did in the past with the disciples of Emmaus. (Luk. 24, 13-35)
May our evangelization on the Internet:
- promote human progress
- be based on respect
- be prophetic word
- unite people
Personal reflection on the use of the network:
What are we sending by e-mail?
Do I give witness of my Christian faith?
Am I connected to the network or caught in it?
Who are my virtual friends?
What am I googling, tweeting, sharing?
Let’s launch our nets to the network and fish new users for the “social network” of the Kingdom!
