Echoes of the WYD…
Dear young men and women and advisors:
Greetings from our International Secretariat!
Recently many people have asked me about my experience during the Vincentian Youth Experience and the celebration of WYD. I respond by asking those individuals a question: How have you lived out these events? Besides the many photograph, what has stayed with you as a part of your life?
I supposed that for many of you those days were very powerful. We experienced a joyful Church, a strong Church, a young Church. Like many of you I saw the Vincentian Family, the young men and women of the Vincentian Family very joyful and at the same time I saw the Vincentian charism come to life. All of those realities reminded me of the words from the first letter of Saint John: What we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands … we proclaim now to you (1 John 1:1-3).
By means of these events God invites us to make our mission more credible in our lives and in our behavior. What is God’s calling you to do? What questions are being raised? And do not forget that with the rosary in our hands, our response can be more authentic.
Thank you very much.
