CHRONICLE OF THE VISIT TO VMY-SLOVENIA December 10-17, 2007

After the 2nd VMY National Councils Encounter. Europe and Middle East, the International President held a motivation and formation visit to VMY – Slovenia, from December 10 to 17, 2007. During the week she had the chance to visit the country’s landmarks; to know the reality of the Association better, to meet the Advisors and Visitors and to meet the moderators of the different VMY groups. In Slovenia, the Association works above all with children and it counts on a team of young moderators who transmit the joy of being Christian to the youngest, from the Vincentian Charisma and the example of Mary.

On Wednesday 12, Yasmine livened up a formation session for the Advisors, resuming some important topics of the document “Role and Functions of Advisors in the VMY”. From December 14 to 16, Advisors and moderators met in Smartno pri Slovenj Gradcufor a formation weekend. During the sessions, they talked about the International Dimension of VMY, our identity and apostolate and the Mission of the National Council. The delegates who took part in the National Councils Encounter in Slovakia (December 5-9) made the most of this event to share their experience, transmitting their enthusiasm to the others, encouraging them to commit themselves even more to the Association.

At the end of her stay in this beautiful country, the President had the opportunity to visit the house of the Vincentian Priests in Celja (the Parish, a spiritual centre and an old people’s home is to open soon), as well as the Provincial House of the Daughters of Charity (Ljubljana-Crunce), sharing with the community of sisters her last Slovenian lunch.
