VISIT TO BELO HORIZONTE, 2008

Yasmine arrived in the Province of Belo Horizonte on May 1. She was welcomed by the VMY Provincial Council and by Sr. Maria das Graças (Visitatrix). In the afternoon, she met the VF of Belo Horizonte to share the progress of VMY International, the projects of the VF International and the collaboration among VMY-BH and the VF.

From May 2-6, a delegation composed of the International President and the Provincial Council visited the different groups in their respective villages: Morro Alto, Caitan Eduardo Bom Despacho, Barbacena (Inmaculada Concepción Collegue, Santa María district and La Baronesa Collegue ) and Antonio Carlos. They were able to know the reality of the groups, their activities and projects, their achievements and challenges. During the visit, Fr. Onésio Moreira Gonçalves (VMY Provincial Advisor) celebrated the Eucharist with the youth in Bom Despacho (Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord) and in Santa Maria district.

Yasmine could also know Belo HorizonteCity and other landmarks; she could greet the elder Vincentian Priests and Daughters of Charity, concede a radio interview in Barbacena and enjoy the delicious mineira gastronomy.

On May 6, the night before her next trip, Yasmine dialogued with the VMY Provincial Council about the experience of those days, the future perspectives for the Province and other topics that were so urgent for the Association at a national and international level. This official closing of the visit was completed by a more original one: a serenade offered by the Sisters Advisors and the young people of the Provincial Council in the early morning of May 7.
