VISIT TO AMAZONIA, 2008

            Yasmine arrived in Belém (capital of the State of Pará) on May 7. In the afternoon she was welcomed in the Provincial Seminary of the Daughters of Charity, where she talked about the International dimension of VMY and the phases to start a VMY group. The next day, she met the Provincial Council of the DC and some lay advisors; this meeting was aimed to show a general Vision of the Company and of VMY in the Province to Yasmine, to clarify some doubts about the organization and the work in the Association and to share dreams.

On May 9-13, Yasmine visited the four VMY groups of the Province: Baiao, Cametá, Igarapé Miri and Belém. She was joined by the Provincial Advisors (Sr. Rosilda Ferreira de Oliveira and Fr. Pedrinho Carlos da Silva). During the meetings with the youth, Yasmine presented the International reality and the four pillars of the Association. She also made the most of the visit to greet the Bishop of Cametá, to know the nearest communities of DC and to discover the food and the dances of Pará. On May 13, Yasmine visited some landmarks of BelémCity:The Basilica of Our Lady of Nazaré, Margal das Garças, Ver-o-peso (fair), Icoaraci (A district specialized in the marajuara handcrafted items), the Docas, etc. On May 14, before her trip to Fortaleza, Yasmine met some young of the SSVP.
