5th National Assembly-VMY Brazil

           

On April 22-25 the 5th National Assembly of VMY Brazil took place in Jaboatao de Guararapes (Recife) with the participation of representatives of the six provinces (Amazonia, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Recife, Rio de Janeiro) and the Visitors and Visitatrixes of Brazil. Yasmine Cajuste, the VMY International President was present, and together with the members of VMY she reflected about “how to build the wholeness, living the Marian and Vincentian Charisma” she also explained the progress of VMY International.

In a Prayer atmosphere, the participants elaborated the Minutes of a VMY Brazil National Statute; it was a fact that marked a milestone in the life of the Association in this country. On May 24 the participants elected the first VMY National Council of Brazil: Bruno Mattos (President, RJ), Cleber Fabio Teodosio de Oliveira (Vice-president, CE), Clarissa Paiva (Secretary, PE), Rafael Felipe Cruz (Vice-secretary, BH), Lucas Copi da Silva (Treasurer, PR), Felipe Lopes Silva (Vice-treasurer, RJ). In the afternoon they visited some landmarks of Recife and Olinda; then they shared a cultural night with the typical dances of the country.

On May 25, the assembly chose, as a guideline, the elaboration of the Formative Project of VMY Brazil; it designed the Province of Amazonia as a venue of the 6th National Assembly (2012) and celebrated the closing Eucharist, thanking God for the opportunity of meeting, reflecting and making decisions together and above all for having achieved a very big step in the building of this national wholeness, through the National Statute and the election of the first VMY National Council.
