JMV INTERNATIONAL SECRETARIAT The VINCENTIAN MARIAN YOUTH International Secretariat is a management body created by Fr. Robert P. Maloney, Director General of the Association, after a previous consultation with the International Council. It has the following objectives: Promote the vitality of the Association Be the bond among the different Associations on the international level Provide information on the life of the Association Receive notifications of appointments on the national level as well as of each new Association erected Keep up-to-date the archives of the Association Organize and hold Encounters and other iniciatives on the international level that are deemed appropriate by the Director General or the International Council in order to promote the vitality of the Association spiritually and apostolically.
Distribution of short and long-term projects Translation and correspondence 5-year formation program Publication of the Book of Prayers - Spirituality Tasks of the Secretariat One of the most important tasks of the Secretariat is to update the website of the Association in the international level through Internet. We request the different countries to inform us on the activities they have held in the year - Encounters, Assemblies, meetings, etc.- and these are then published in the website under the "News" section so members all over the world know what is going on in other places. Another important task is to make a report on the reality of JMV in each of the countries where it exists. For this, we have organized the international archives by countries, wherein all communications received and sent to the national councils as well as the information updates they send us are being filed. Once in a while, there are directors, directresses and persons from JMV, whether of Spain or other parts of the world, who visit us in the Secretariat. They are welcomed and we try to help them in the best possible way we can. We also collaborate with JMV Spain on many occasions. Projects for the "New Millennium" The ongoing formation of Advisers and Officers in the different countries is very essential in order for them to better evangelize the youth. It is necessary to promote a way of life that is coherent with the identity of the Association. This can be achieved through a participative and experiential style of formation. The International Secretariat will prepare and publish formation program materials in the website for the use of all the councils. Aside from that, we are also studying the possibility of having these materials printed and sent to the groups without Internet access.
