She joined the Daughters of Charity in RecifeProvince in 1988. Since 1991 she served devoutly to the poor people especially the elder ones in a communal hospital in Salvador de la Bahia. She was stabbed to death while she was serving the food to sick people, on a Holy Friday, April 9th, 1993. She received the Martyrdom Palm for having defending her virginity, offering the sacrifice of her life with the first martyr: Christ. On December 16th, 2006, The Holy Father Benedict XVI authorized the Promulgation of the decree that declares her martyr. She will be the first Brazilian women, of the Society of Apostolic Life in being beatified, during the Feast of Christ the King, in 2007. Due to the fact she is a martyr, it is not necessary to prove a miracle for her beatification. Her life talks to us about the beauty of giving our youth energies to serve Christ in the poor people.
