Preparing future leaders and animators in a VMY Group is an important plan each country should have. With this goal in mind, VMY Poland formulated a ten session program for their Animators´ Course organized by the Daughters of Charity.
This course lasted for two years with a duration of three days per session. It took place in a Retreat Center in Cracow. Last May 19-21, 2017 was the last session of the entire course. The main objective of this program is to prepare the participants not just to be good future and efficient future animators of the Association but to be responsible leaders as well, especially to the youngest members of the Vincentian Marian Youth in Poland. Following the footsteps of the Virgin Mary, they learned how to share the Vincentian Charism to the children. Resource persons were invited to help them learn how to improve their interpersonal skills, communication skills with the proper way of expressing their emotions which gave them the opportunity to interact with kids and help the less-privileged. All session included a time for personal and communal prayer.
As a way of evaluation, each attendee was asked to lead 5 meetings in their own local community which were being rated and evaluated by the Daughters´ of Charity. At the end of the course, all new animators then received a Ceremonial Animator´s Badge during the final mass which would signify that they are officially considered leaders in the VMY.
With this program successfully implemented in the Province of Cracow, it is with the intention that this will be rippled to the two other provinces.
