VMY Thailand found a new servant leader in the person Sr. Marilou Camacho, DC from the Philippines. She is leading the young people from this beautiful country in Asia.
The children are very active in the parishes serving during Sunday masses as the choir and readers and are well appreciated by the bishops and priests. Aside from the regular Sunday mass, they are also invited to serve during feasts of near and far various churches. The members also have regular bible sharing and reflections as part of their continuous formation. Inspired by the active leadership of the sisters serving the association, one of the members recently entered the convent to be a sister herself.
They also do a lot of apostolic activities like visiting the poor, praying for the dead during wakes and act as leaders during seminars and trainings. The members are also active participants of the catechism in the diocese. In fact, they receive awards for these active participation.
In a country where Christianity is a minority, it is but an enough reason to celebrate that an organization of the Blessed Virgin Mary exists, and is serving the people there. There are four committed members of the organization who are non-Catholics. But because of their love for the association, they asked to be baptized, Fortunately, their parents allowed and are now waiting for their scheduled baptism. In preparation for this, they are currently studying catechism two times a week. This is another reason to celebrate!
